Base price steel string guitar build - $2,500,

Base price nylon stringed guitar build - $3,000. 

Base price ukulele build - $1,250.

My prices are based on the number of hours required to build the instrument plus the cost of materials. The higher cost for the nylon stringed instrument is due to the additional labor to build the slotted headstock and the more intricate bracing pattern. Ukuleles are much smaller than guitars but require about the same labor.

My base price begins with available back, side and top tonewoods, mahogany neck, bound body, headstock overlay, bound fingerboard and headstock with contrasting purfling accent, side position dots, tuning machines - Schaller, Gotoh, Sperzel, etc. 

Additional features and cost are:

  • Venetian cutaway, $150

  • Compound scale, $125

  • Player side sound port, $100

  • Headstock underlay veneer, $50

  • Fretboard face dot position markers, NC

  • Additional inlay - materials plus labor

  • Alternative Back and Side woods – market price

  • Custom tuning machines - Waverly, Rodgers, Rubner, etc. Manufactures price

  • Electronic pick-up installation - $50 + price of unit

  • Instrument case - manufactures price

Call to discuss wood options and availability, as well as string spacing, neck profile, tuner preferences and whatever necessary to make your instrument right for you.  I will not begin the build until we have discussed and finalized your options and agreed on a budget.

A 10% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of order to secure your postion on the build list.  When I am ready to start your project, an additional 40% is required. Any additions amendments, or upgrades requested by the customer during the build process will require and additioal deposit of 50% of the additional estimated expenses. The full balance plus sales tax, shipping and handling costs are due prior to shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
